Super-Posh on a Budget
You want to make your home look amazing only you just don’t have the budget for that super plush looking dining table, luxury dining chairs or corner sofa arrangement. What we see is glossy magazines and on the TV is not done on a budget, more with a very large pot of cash and with some top designers thrown in for good measure. Re-designing a room for as little as possible needs a different approach. So it’s not so much, change as much furniture as you can, but keep as much as you can. What you are looking to achieve is to make your old stuff look like new stuff! Don’t bring in the professionals. This should be a DIY interior-design job.
DIY Interior Design
A study food that people placed higher value on things that they had built themselves. So what if you have a few streaks in your paintwork, perhaps a couple of bristles from your cheap shedding brush. You did it yourself and that means something.
When it comes to the dining room, don’t think that you have to go all out and invest in a brand new dining table. Look at what you can do with the one you have. It’s much cheaper to invest in some new dining chairs that it is to buy a whole new suite. You might try painting your table, sanding it down and oiling it or simply throwing a cover over it and adding a large vase of fresh flowers to the middle. Don’t dismiss your old dining table if you feel that it’s looking a little shabby. Shabby is tres chic these days you know. Old is vintage and that is incredibly fashionable and not to mention timeless.
Older items of furniture can be accessorised with newer ones. Add a few modern velvet dining chairs in navy blue, pink, mustard or grey. These can make a real statement and are actually cheaper than you might think.

If you have some space to play around with, why not move that sofa to the other side of the room. Add a well placed rug, some fresh flowers or some large statement prints to muted walls?
Don't dismiss second-hand stores or charity shops. You can pick up some great pieces, either new or in need of some renovation, but you CAN find interesting pieces of furnuture to tart up and personalise.
Painting Outside of The Box
Stripes are in: By taping off sections of wall and painting between the taped lines, you can create horizontal or vertical stripes! This is such a simple DIY hack but so effective. Get the effect of wall paper without the hastle of hanging it and without the added expense. Wallpaper can be very pricey.
